My condolences to the Pill family from Sylvia Rae Simone O'Hara, a second cousin to Thelma. I am the daughter of Fern Degler, first cousin to Thelma. Mom told me this when I was young, and I met Thelma's husband "Dick" when I was at Grandma Degler's apartment on Beechurst Avenue. Mom also told me about her Aunt Mary. I met Great uncles Bill and Max when they visited us in Morgantown. They regaled us with stories about Key West, looking fit and tan in their straw hats.
When I saw the obit in the Dominion Post, I thought Thelma resembled Mom so much. I have enclosed a picture of Mom in her late 60's (she passed away in 2005), and one of me taken around 15 years ago.
My brother and his family are still alive, as well as many first cousins from the Degler side and my father's side.
It is not possible for me to attend the funeral, but I wanted you to know I care.
