When we came to the US in 1957, his family was the first that we met. We friends had many good times that are ingrained in the memory of my life.

This picture is from December 2019, when I had the pleasure of spending a week with my sweet cousin Caroline and Leo at their home. Leo chatted it up with me sharing stories from his childhood and telling me all about his love of the outdoors, & of course, his family. He had a sense of humor and, despite his health issues, maintained an upbeat attitude the entire week. He was a generous, loving, compassionate, sweet soul who will be greatly missed by many.
Sending love, now and always.
Cousin Jennifer

Caroline, Courtney and Leah, my heart aches for all three of you. Leo was a dedicated huaband, father and he cherished being a grandfather. Just know that he will be by your side at all times, watching over you! Love and prayers!

Caroline and family, I know at times like this it is hard to see past the sorrow, but I hope that reflecting on the wonderful memories that you and Leo shared will help you to see light again. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

Fred and I are remembering the first time we met Leo and Caroline. It was down at Stonewall Jackson Resort in one of the cafes, the day before Scott and Leah's wedding. Leo and Fred took a table to themselves and we don't even remember how long they talked. It was as though they had known each other for a lifetime. Sadly, between distance, and illness, our visits with Leo and Caroline were too few. But we are grateful for their gift to our family of their beautiful daughter, our daughter-in-law and mother to our special grandson. Leo leaves big shoes to fill. He holds a special place in many hearts. We send you all, our love and our prayers.

Leo was a High School friend and classmate. He ask me to take him Trout fishing as he knew I was always talking about how much I fished. The night before the temps dropped to low teens and we got about 10-12 inches of snow so I ask him if he wanted to post-pone but "NO WAY" was his response. We went to Darnell Hollow to find the trout. I told him to be careful as we moved across the stream. I took a running jump from one rock to the other and told him it was slick and he probably had better walk around and find a better crossing. Here he come running with a leap and landed on an ice patch and in the water he went. Soaking wet we continued on. A great guy and friend. Leo "Ole Boy" good luck with the trout in heaven. RIP

Dearest Caroline, Courtney and Leah,
I am so sorry to have learned of your beloved Leo’s passing.
I first met Leo at MHS, and liked him immediately. He was such a very nice guy and gentleman.
I recall him and Caroline dating and thinking what a great match! I was pleased to have attended your wedding.
May your memories be of great comfort.
Love to you all. Susan Logue Wishon
