I knew Lesley when she volunteered at the Morgantown Public Library, where I was both an employee and a volunteer. I found her unfailingly optimistic, vivacious, and very kind. We had a mutual friend, Ruth Godfrey, and I remember occasions when Ruth and ran I into her fortuitously when we were at lunch and Lesley was biking the trail. Additionally, Lesley taught with my late mother, Nedlee Grant, at Saint Francis High School. My mother loved talking on the phone with and working with Lesley. To Lesley's family I want to convey my sincere condolences for your loss. It is difficult to lose your loved one after an illness, but it is devastating to lose someone you love suddenly. I hope that you can enjoy as fond memories of Lesley as I have. Sarah B. Grant

We will miss you.

Lesley
Memories go back many decades to St. Johns Parish
Then as an enthusiastic teacher to my daughter Kase
She truely inspired her life
Myra and I had a long lunch with her a few weeks ago at a WVUF event and she was the same bubbly fun positive person we always knew
We are out of town and can not make her memorial but she will be close to us tomorrow and forever

Although it has been 31 years since I was a fifth grader in her classroom at St. Francis, I still carry many lessons she has taught me with me. I remember bringing in international foods when we researched countries, dividing jello jigglers into fractions, and making displays of different Native American groups in the classroom. She made learning interactive and meaningful. She was the reason that I began to enjoy reading as she had a drop everything and read policy after lunch. She would sit in her rocking chair and read from a novel to us everyday as we sat on the floor. When I sit in my rocking chair as a sixth grade teacher, and read to my students on the floor, I remember those moments of 5th grade when I couldn't wait to hear the next chapter. She was truly one of the greatest teachers, and I can only aspire to be half of the teacher that she was.♥️

Lesley was one of the most energetic, fun loving, positive people I have ever met. She was always building others up even amd bringing smiles to the faces of the families and staff at the Rosenbaum Family House.
When I was diagnosed with leukemia she brought me a handmade sign that says “when you come to the edge of all the light you have and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen, either there will be something solid on which to stand or you will be taught to fly.” She told me this was a saying that she held close to dealing with her husband’s cancer. The sign hangs in our kitchen and I stop and read it often. It makes me feel not so alone in this journey and it brings a smile to my heart that she wanted to help me feel better when she was going through a rough time. This is the epitome of who she was.
Lesley will forever be remembered in my home and the Rosenbaum Family House where her smile lit up the room, her compassion was always available, and her heart could be seen through her laughter and her love. God bless Lesley and her family forever and always.

Lesley was my first mentor teacher when I started teaching at St. Francis. I learned so much from her - she was a master teacher and a wonderful friend. She was my sponsor when I joined the Catholic Church. I will ever be grateful for her friendship.

Condolences to all who received the gift of knowing Lesley. My own life was enriched when my husband, Rodger Mills, introduced me to Lesley and Mike almost 50 years ago. The memories are rich and cherished.

I was a math teacher in Mon Cty and worked with the Merit program. This is how I knew Lesley. She always had such good ideas about how to get kids to learn math. When she taught angles she had the students take pictures of the different angles they found in their world.
