My husband and I were sad to hear of Frances' passing. We'd gotten to know her when she cared for Mrs. Kinnan on Jackson St., our house just below on Jefferson next to the lot that Mrs. Kinnan let us garden on (and later we purchased). Frances sure knew how to care for people and things, the practical side so strong in her. She cheered us on as we removed the aluminum siding from our house, gave us flower seeds to plant in the garden, marveled as we moved forward on our many projects. She & Mrs. Kinnan had us up to the house a number of times, and for some of the family reunions--so sweet in making us feel a part of the clan. I still have a handwritten butterscotch pie recipe Frances wrote out for me, one of the many goodies she knew how to throw together. And her green thumb! My goodness! Such a gorgeous yard!
During those days, I was surprised when she told me of her sciatic nerve pain--I couldn't comprehend how she accomplished all that she did while suffering. Frances had such spunk too--she didn't take any guff from dog-walkers who wouldn't clean up after their animals--she told us some funny, bawdy stories about that issue! We loved Frances and she'd send us an "anniversity" card every year, an Archie Bunker-ism we treasured, the apt description of any long marriage combining the words anniversary with adversity. Best word ever.
We'll miss her and send our condolences.

It was a blessing to have Framces as my cousin. I have fond memories of our time together, especially her cooking and flower gardens. Her kindness will be remembered by all that knew her.
