Roberta Lee Wade "Bobbie Lee", 89, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at Harmony At Morgantown. Born June 3, 1934 in Maidsville, she was the daughter of Herman and Mildred Grow Wade. She lived most of her life on Boston Street in the community of Van Voorhis. After graduating from Morgantown High School in 1953, she became a proud member of the US Air Force, serving as a Radio Repairman. Bobbie worked for many years at Quality Glass in Van Voorhis and later retired from Mylan Pharmaceuticals after 17 years of employment in Inspection. Bobbie is predeceased by her parents and her sisters Nora Thorne and husband Bill (Morgantown), Esther Zoeller and husband KZ (Miami), and Charlotte Tedesco (Baltimore). She is survived by her Nephews Timothy W. Thorne (Susan Adams) of Morgantown, and Mark Thorne (Sharon) of Reedsville, Robert Allen Scola (Robin) of Sammamish, WA and Niece Terry Tedesco of Baltimore. She is also survived by Great Nephews Nathan Thorne (Anna) of Morgantown, Matthew Thorne (Sally) of Pittsburgh, Calder Thorne and Great Niece Chloe Thorne, both of Reedsville. Also Great, Great Niece Phoebe Thorne and Great Great Nephew, Benjamin Thorne, both of Pittsburgh, and special cousins Terry Grow Clements (Roger) of Portland, OR, Terry Grow Racut (Frank) of Jefferson, VA, Ben Mackey (Judy) of Beverly Hills, FL, plus Bryan Adams of Pittsburgh and Taylor Adams of Morgantown. Bobby Lee loved playing cards or games with family, a good bonfire, feeding her birds, and a picnic. Living a life of simple pleasures, she rejected material things as "just something else to dust". She was "Auntie" to all of us who loved her and she will be dearly missed. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be provided. Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, September 28th from 10 AM until 12:00 Noon. A graveside service and inurnment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover at 12:30 with Pastor Zac Morton officiating and the United States Air Force providing the flag folding honors. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mon River Trails Conservancy (MRTC) PO Box 282, Morgantown, WV 26507 are appreciated. Her home in Van Voorhis was next to the Rail Trail, which she enjoyed.
