Obituary of Richard William Lee Wiles

Richard W.L. Wiles, 96, of Morgantown, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 4:22 AM at his home. He was born September 12, 1927 in Howesville, a son of the late Barton and Marie (Preston) Wiles.
He worked at Mon Power for 43 years and served in the United States Army. He formerly bowled for the power company bowling team and enjoyed building bird houses.
He is survived by his wife, Stella Louise Wiles; daughter, Nancy Taylor; sisters, Dottie and Loraine; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Stewart; brothers, Wayne and Howard Wiles; grandson, Ray Stewart; and great grandchild, Austin Taylor.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, September 30th from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Rich Schimansky officiating. Interment will take place at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery in Preston County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morgantown Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Road, Suite 250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
