Dr. Gordon was an exceptional professor and researcher. His depth of knowledge, guidance, cheerful personality, and experience in marketing assisted me greatly in earning my doctoral degree at West Virginia University. So sorry to hear of Gordon’s passing. I met Gordon and Tandy at WVU while studying for my MBA. He was such a good friend, smart, engaging and personable. I don’t think I’d have made it through without his help. I have such fond memories of him. I extend my condolences to all of Gordon’s loved ones.

I remember Gordon best from the days his daughter, Kerry, competed in cross-country competitions with my own daughter. Gordon was a beautiful and interesting person who obviously adored Kerry. My heart goes out to Kerry and Tandy at your time of loss. I wish you peace in the months and years to come as you remember all the good times together.

Every memory of every Thanksgiving holiday includes Gordon. Gordon cracking jokes or roasting you in that way that makes you feel special. When he wasn’t cracking jokes he was making the most delicious corn pudding or educating me on some thing I didn’t even know I should know about yet. He was always ahead of the curve. I’ll miss you Uncle Gordon. I love you.

What a wonderful life of service we remember Gordon for with his devotion to his family and to his work at several universities. I met Gordon through my lifelong friend Tandy and I know what a marvelous husband and father he was, first and foremost. Gordon was also a dedicated Professor who worked tirelessly to advance the lives and careers of his students. He will be greatly missed.

I hold so many dear memories of Gordon in my heart. His laugh was contagious and I loved listening to it. I met Gordon and Tandy when I was 18 years old. We celebrated our youth together with some parties, sled riding in the evenings on pizza trays, little Christmas’s, and forming the “O” club. His daughter Kerry was the joy of his heart. A lovely family to be able to share so many wonderful memories with myself and so many others.
