Obituary of Helen Smith Addie

Helen Smith Addie, 74, of Batavia, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 29,
2023. She was born August 30, 1949, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late
James and Edna (Darnell) Smith. She is survived by her husband of 50
years, Benjamin Addie.
Helen loved to teach others and was a beloved mother and grandmother. In
her free time, she enjoyed writing, gardening, and baking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brandon Addie
(Sophie), Sean Addie (Siobhan), and Cullen Addie (Courteney);
grandchildren, Kaden, McKenna, Fiona, Seamus, Kaliya, and Jamari Addie;
siblings, Terry Smith (Lynda), Maxine Smith-Dawson (Dennis), and Tina
Smith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Steve
Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local library.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce
St., Morgantown, WV on Saturday, December 9th from 10 AM until the time of
the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lawrence Rebelo
officiating.
Interment will follow at Fletcher Cemetery in Morgantown.
