My deepest sympathy to Pauline's family during this difficult time. She truly was a wonderful lady w/a beautiful smile and I always enjoyed her stopping by the church hospitality counter. She always looked forward to me making her special treat, a cup of hot chocolate and a rice krispy treat.

Life as a resident at The Village at Heritage Point in Morgantown was more in many ways with Pauline as a neighbor. Pauline provided her personal appreciations of life’s joys and challenges in both usual and unusual ways to the staff and to the residents. Pauline was among the most involved and energized participants in numerous activities at The Village,

I am sad that Pauline has moved on to a new life beyond our view. I had the honor to work with her when we were both at St. Mark's United Methodist in Charleston during the 1990's. She was a good support person when I was needing advice and a dear friend. After I left St. Marks I would often encounter her in her many volunteer ushering jobs at various concert sites. She was a real treasure and great down to earth person. What a truly amazing and full life she lived! She will be long remembered.

I had the honor of hiring and supervising Pauline Shaver RN, NP while she worked as a West Virginia school nurse in Kanawha County Schools. She was always a caring school nurse and loved working with the children.
I also enjoyed Pauline as a friend. Even after she retired from her school nurse position, it was always a joy to talk with her at our school nurse luncheons and hear about all of her activities and endeavors.
The last time I saw her was when she attended my Retirement Party in 2020. This was during COVID and we all were wearing masks and maintaining distance. In spite of the risk, she had come to let me know that she was moving to Morgantown, and would miss our talks. I knew I would miss visiting with her too, and hearing her wonderful stories.
My thoughts, love and prayers are with her friends and family. Hers was definitely a meaningful life well lived and full of love.
I am so glad I got a chance to share a little bit of that life.

Pauline was a great person and I always enjoyed talking with her and driving her in the Veteran's Day Parade in Charleston. They didn't make them any better.

Pauline touched my life in many ways, beginning during my recovery from serious illness and continuing through many years. She volunteered at my election precinct, where visiting with her was a treasure. Wherever I saw her, she always lifted me up. I am very sorry for your loss, and for the loss to our communities and the state of West Virginia.

Trish and I were great friends in elementary and middle school, so met Pauline as "Trisha's mom" when I was very young. I spent a lot of time at the Shaver's house. Pauline pierced my ears, talked to me like a person rather than a kid, and kindly put up with the shenanigans that Trish and I got up to.
As I grew older, I appreciated all the Pauline accomplished in her life. She raised three kids as a single mom, she actively continued her education and served so many people through her work and National Guard Service. Pauline was one of a kind, and I'm thankful I knew her. She will be missed.
