Obituary of Erica Lynn Butcher

Erica Lynn Butcher, 41, passed away at home on January 23, 2024, after a brief illness. Erica was born October 23, 1982, in Morgantown. She is the daughter of John ("Mike") Butcher, Sr., of Morgantown. Born with a sense of adventure, Erica left school early, got her GED, and headed to Alaska. She spent several years in Anchorage as the manager of a toy store before returning to live the rest of her life in her hometown. After her son, Nathan Harris, Jr., was born, she devoted her life to his care and upbringing. Erica's family and her animals were the center of her world. She is survived by her life-partner, Nathan ("Rookie") Harris, Sr.; her son, Nathan; father, John Butcher, Sr.; brother, John Butcher, Jr. of Morgantown and his family, Abbie Swiger, Aiden and William Shinkovich; niece, Jonna Butcher; aunt and uncle, Kathy Snyder and George Roeder; aunt and uncle, James and Elizabeth Reese; adopted mom, Dorrit McDonald; and her cats, Smokey and Oliver. Erica is preceded in death by her grandmother, Doris Butcher Snyder. Erica never wanted to be the center of attention, so there will be a private service for her immediate family.
