Cindy was an energetic and all around amazing human being to be around. She was fun and could always find some humor in a bad situation or a lesson to be learned. She was full of life and always had a smile on but it was always genuine, never made up. She will truly be missed! Going through some of these messages I’ve learned a bit more about her and they all show she was loved in many ways by many people wether it be friend or family. My heart goes out to the family in this tough time.

I first met Cindy over 30 years ago, when she joined our kennel club and transformed our entire program. She taught me a more compassionate approach to dog training, encouraged me to be an instructor, and along the way became a good friend. She taught me to appreciate the unique spirits and challenges of each of my dogs and love them for who they were, not who I might wish. I cannot believe she is gone from us so fast, she will be so missed. Dogspeed Cindy, you will be so missed.

I first met Cindy when I enrolled my somewhat incorrigible young Border Collie, Skye, in her puppy class. I'd raised dogs from puppyhood before but this one was a real challenge for me. She compassionately and professionally taught me how to work with my pup in a positive manner with clear boundaries, so that we both would have a more fulfilling and happier life together. An unfortumate accident took Skye from me but when I got Celt, and later Bute and Dan as pups, I made sure to enroll each in her puppy class, and they and Megan in any other family dog classes that she taught. She didn't teach *the pups and dogs* in her classes - she taught *the people* how to be their dogs' teachers, teaching in kind, compassionate, rational, safe, sensible ways. She was never afraid to speak the truth and be the advocate for pups and dogs, and the people who wanted to learn how to guide their pets into being the best family members they could be. She did an amazing amount of selfless service to untold numbers of pets and their owners in the classes she conducted in Morgantown over the years. I feel indebted to her, and know that everyone of the dogs that I have had contact with have benefited from what she taught me. She will be missed.

Mike, I am so very sorry. It's hard to believe that Cindy is no longer with us. I remember our golf games when I was just starting out and the vacations in Virginia with the dogs. Such good times! When we got our puppies during COVID, she was so helpful when I reached out to her. We get busy with life - I just wish there had been some more time to get together. You and the family are all in my thoughts and prayers.

It was always a happy thrill for me when I went to a seminar or dog event and saw Cindy there. Always a lovely interaction and she was so attentive at listening and sharing information. I remember clearly the first time i met her at a dog event. When my former german shepherd finished and was walking past her, she said "Ah the beautiful german shepherd". He stopped and instantly kissed her. Dogs know kind souls instantly. And with my current dog, when we recently went to train w Cindy and her nose work tribe for the Kirtland Ohio trial, it was all so uplifting. You can tell there was true comraderie, passion for the sport and dogs, and genuine love for each other. Cindy created a wonderful and admirable vibe and I was blessed to go there a few times. I had such a calm at the next trial due to her positive affirmations and enthusiatic belief in us. Photo is Arlo after passing. He loved her meatballs! I only wish I would have had the priviledge of going there for a longer period of time. My prayers for her family and all who were close to her. Her leaving is tragic to those left behind.. Faith in the promise of a return to Paradise for eternity gives hope to fill our present loss.

Mike, I am deeply saddened by Cindy's passing and have you, Cindy, and family in my thoughts and prayers. Cindy welcomed me into the wonderful life that the two of you created on the very day that she met me. She was always kind and supportive and made me feel loved and respected. I so much enjoyed our visits in Florida and Cindy always took care of us, making sure we had enough water, sports drinks, sunscreen, and snacks when we would venture out into the heat or spend time relocating alligators. I will dearly miss Cindy. Mike, please know that I am here for you anytime and all the time.

Dear Mike and family:
I am so sorry to hear of Cindy's passing. I knew her from Mountaineer Kennel Club with her teaching me puppy kindergarten classes and regular obedience classes with my dogs; as well as, just socializing with her at events and meetings at MKC. I am greatly appreciative of her friendliness, patience, and expertice of teaching me how to train my dogs. I have learned so much from her. She will be greatly missed as a friend to many and missed by the whole dog community. Again, I am sorry of her passing because I know she would have loved to continue her passion of dog training and helping others become responsible dog owners. God bless you and your family. May God give you peace and comfort in time. Cathy Hamilton
