Emma (Jean) is the first born. 8 to follow. She was left to watch the smaller children when mom and dad went to the store. It was a morning so Jean decided to make “poor man’s gravey”. She sat us on the floor with a big bowl of gravy and biscuits. It was terrible. The gravey was as thick as tar and she insisted we eat it. Well I told mom and dad when they returned. Dad laughed and said I hope you don’t throw it away we can use it for paste for the wallpaper. I will never forget that. She is my big sister and I love her. I will miss her everyday. Once again “she left me”. But I know she is happy now.
