So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I had the honor of meeting him when I worked for the Town of Star City, as he was a close friend of the late JIm Williams, the Building Inspector at the time. Joe was hilarious and so very kind. My condolences to all who loved him. May his memory be a blessing.

I just want to say that I have heard over the years Mr. George's eldest son, Robert P. George, in his many public appearances, discuss his father and have read the son's article, Running Into the Fire and am always impressed by what a strong, brave man Joseph George was both in his valiant WWII service and as a neighbor risking his own life by dashing into a burning house to say a disabled man. He was also a remarkable man who rose from humble origins to raise five sons who are all accomplished, distinguished people. I also honor him as a devoted husband and a Christian gentleman who spent countless hours in service to his community and nation. What a fine and decent man. A model citizen and kind, gentle person. We need more people like him.
