I can remember like it was yesterday, taking our family into a room for privacy to let us know the results of a biopsy that was positive.I had felt so nervous and dreading the required meeting but Dr.Stoughton was so gentle, kind, caring, compassionate and empathetic that it made a really painful situation tolerable. Not everyone has that special ability or talent but it was soo appreciated and will never be forgotten.I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family.May God's Love give you strength at this difficult time.

What a sad day when I learned of Wade’s accident and death. What a great guy. I got to know Wade on many motorcycle trips that we took together and he truly loved. My sincerely thoughts and prayers are with his lovely wifeJeannie. You guys were a great couple.
I now live in Florida and currently traveling in Cuba. I will miss the funeral, but my heart will be there. Take care Wade, you will be missed by so many whose lives you touch. Hopefully I see you someday in our next life. God bless you man.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of Dr Wade Stoughten. My relationship with Dr Stoughton goes back to the 1990’s when he was my family doctor. I liked as a person and respected him as a doctor. I’m sure he is a loss to many people who like him as a person and trusted him as THEIR doctor—-and I’m one of them.

It was with much sadness and nostalgia that I learned about Wade’s passing. A kaleidoscopic flood of very fond med school memories flashed by, along with profound regret that we were all so “busy” with our lives that we failed to grasp the fragility of it all to stay in touch as the many years passed by.
Wade was self effacing, humble, engaging, humorous, bright and skilled. He was certainly a large part of the glue that held us together as a class, whether it was during the arduous pre-clinical period, the clinics or the OR. I so enjoyed our many fun group trail bike rides around Morgantown.
Wade toiled long and hard in the fields of caring for his fellow Man, justly earning his reward in Heaven. God speed and rest in peace, my friend, and my sincerest condolences to your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, and I know you will find comfort in each other and with friends in the coming days.
Charles Cuono (WVU Sch. Med., Class of 1971)

Dr. Stoughton was a very knowledgeable, skillful, kind, caring and compassionate man but I believe his greatest virtue was that he was a humble man. I can imagine him looking down from above and seeing the flag at Mon General at half staff and him sayin--"for me"? He truly was admired by many. May he RIP. Sending prayers to those left behind.

Dr Stougton was an amazing urologist who helped me become the professional I am today. I recall many “lively” discussions that we had in the OR while I was working as a rad tech for him. He was always the most professional doc that he could be while holding me accountable at all times. RIP Dr Stoughton. You will be missed!

So very sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers for each of you during this time. He was truly a wonderful person with a heart of gold. I loved how no matter what he did he had the enthusiasm and energy and big smile of a little kid with a new toy. Whenever he was excited over something, he would come up the hallway of the office saying "OH BOY, OH BOY, hey Wil, guess what!" Love and prayers to all❤️
