James Michael "Mike" Sickles, 73, of Morgantown passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born August 24, 1950 in Morgantown, the son of the late James C. Sickles and Edith (Pysell) Sickles. He was a 1968 graduate of Morgantown High School and worked for many years at CONSOL Energy's Pursglove No.15 mine as a shift foreman. Mike was an avid collector of many things including guns, coins, and old clocks. He enjoyed old cars, shooting skeet, and was a HAM Radio enthusiast who liked talking to people all over the world. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother John Sickles, of Morgantown, son Chad M. Sickles, of Morgantown, as well as several aunts and uncles. Mike is survived by his wife Gloria (Rife) Sickles, son Bryan Sickles and wife Bobbi, of Morgantown, granddaughters, Hannah (Sickles) Donaldson and her husband Brady, of Oakland, MD, and Avery Sickles, of Morgantown, as well as his special baby dog Cassie. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 19th at 3:00PM at Covenant Global Methodist Church, 802 Greenbag Rd., Morgantown, with Pastor Nate Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the food pantry at Covenant Global Methodist Church.
