James Andrew Stephen 71, of Morgantown passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Fairmont Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Jim was born on August 20, 1952 the son of the late Howard and Barbara Stephen.
Jim was many things. Father, musician, raconteur, writer. Jim had many passions, including a lifelong attachment to his youth formed on Lake Michigan. He knew the best spot for barbecue in the Carolinas and where to catch a live band in Nashville.
Jim is survived by his children Morgan and her husband Michael Acres, Daniel and his wife Stefy Shepard, and Paul; and grandchildren Elizabeth Acres and Soren Shepard; along with his siblings and their families, including his brother Larry and Jeanne Stephen and their children Liana and Jeremy, his brother Jeff and Jane Stephen and their children Kristen, Adam and Alex, his sister Betsy Newkirk, his sister Nicky Purcell and her husband Dennis, and his sister-in-law Julia Stephen and her children Greg and Judith.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his brothers John and Dave Stephen, and brother-in-law Bruce Newkirk
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, May 29th from 10 AM until 12 PM.
