Obituary of Donald Charles Supcoe III

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donald Charles Supcoe, III, of Morgantown, passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Morgantown, WV. Born on November 10, 1985, in Weston, WV, Donald was the beloved son of Donald Supcoe, Jr. and Patty (Lyons) Supcoe. Donald, (also affectionately known as D3, Little Don or Donny to his friends and co-workers) was a proud graduate of George Washington High School, Class of 2005, and West Virginia University, where he earned his degree in 2009. Donald was a member of the Gas & Oil Association of West Virginia (GO-WV) and the owner of Stone Ridge Energy and was known for his integrity, hard work, and passion for the energy industry. He was just as comfortable working in the field alongside his co-workers as he was working with partners on potential new development and energy projects. Donald loved spending time at a family home at Indian Lake in Central City, Pennsylvania where he learned to boat, ski and enjoy the water. He also liked his trip each fall to a friend's hunting camp outside of Weston, WV where he occasionally chased deer, but mostly swapped stories and laughs with that group. More recently, besides work, most of his time was spent chasing his boys, whom he absolutely adored. His warm personality and sense of humor made him a cherished family member and friend to many, and he was always ready with a helping hand or assistance in resolving any kind of problem. Donald is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Virginia (Destro) Supcoe, and their two beloved sons, Donald Charles "Charlie" Supcoe, IV, and Joseph James Supcoe. He leaves behind his loving sisters, Sarah Chagas and her husband Gus, and Leigh Supcoe, as well as his nephews, Luca and Liam Chagas, and niece, Mia Chagas. He will be greatly missed by his grandmother, Maureen Supcoe, his in-laws Joseph and Sherry Destro, sister-in-law Katie Destro and her husband Bob, and his best friends Austin Vargo, Josh Shuman, and Terry Slevin. Donald's extended family and numerous friends will forever hold his memory close. Preceding Donald in death were his grandparents, James H. Lyons Jr., Betty Jane Lyons, and Donald Charles Supcoe Sr. Donald's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who know him. His family finds solace in the memories they shared and the lasting impact he made on their lives. Friends and family will gather to honor and remember him at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508 on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 with Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, S.T.D., as Celebrant. A private family committal service will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic School at www.sfccs.org for students in need of financial assistance in furthering their Catholic education at the school.
