Light up a room was an understatement! Rashad always seem to exude sheer joy and you felt that way when around him. He will forever be missed by me and my boys. My love, prayers and condolences go out to Rashad’s mother, siblings, family and friends. Rest now in power. You are loved.

My love for you is never ending. Your smile will forever be etched in my mind, your laugh will always echo my mind, my heart will always be both touched by your warmth and broken by your early departure. In my heart you will always be one of my children and I will love you forever my sweet, sweet Rashad.

I’ll NEVER forget every time you would see me you’d tell me how much me and your mom looked alike and I would tell you that’s because she’s my SISTER (different moms, same dad) lol… I love you nephew! My Libra baby 10/10 and my birthday 10/14. We miss you so much and you’ll never EVER be forgotten. You touched so many lives just by being YOU!!! Silly, outgoing, and CHARMING (forever smiling) is how I’ll always remember you. Love ALWAYS Aunt Momma.

Rashad was the anchor to our next generation. My dear mother’s first great grandchild! She announced his birth with excitement because it was so close to her birthday! He set the tone to the point where all his young cousins followed his lead. Yeah he was one of us because he had skills in sports was a trendsetter with his peers, and always respectful to his elders. My soul has been shattered and my heart aches but I thank God for allowing us to witness one of his precious gifts…..my grandnephew! This is hard to accept.

Rashad was like a big brother to me. He lit up the room the moment he walked in. His smile was the definition of contagious. He was a sweet soul who was looking forward for his future and getting his life turned around. We went swimming at my house Sunday where he told me how excited he was and I saw the light come back into his eyes that I haven’t seen in a while. He made sure to lift me up whenever I was sad and with him I always knew I had someone in my corner. I will miss him dancing to whatever song I play making me feel like my music was actually good and him yelling my nickname “bebop” whenever I am not listening or doing something stupid. I am gonna miss it all and I will hold onto the memories I have of him forever.

Q: How did you meet Rashad?
A: Rashad was one of the first students I ever taught. I remember as I was coming in, people warned me he was such a handful, but we hit it off from day one. I’m heartbroken he’s gone so soon.

Rashad and I tracked paths for a few years. We were at South his 8th grade year. He and I matriculated to MHS when he was a 9th grader.
I enjoyed him immeasurably and invested a great deal of time and effort in this rewarding relationship.
He will be missed greatly!! Rest In Peace friend.
