I first met Mike, then nicknamed “Yard” and “Beamie” as a student manager when he played basketball in junior high and last, a half century later while he was the Manager of Valley Auto Body here in Morgantown. Mike was kind and good humored, and a skilled athlete; traits he carried throughout his life. I am saddened to learn of his passing and wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

One memory that’s really stands out. West Virginia vs Pitt. When the game started it was 17 degrees. By the time we walked out of the stadium it was -17. The wives left at halftime but Mike said you have to sing Country Roads at the end of the game. So we stuck it out. He also took me to see Jerry West number retirement at WVU. What a weekend we had. Leah and family my hearts aches for you. I love you. ❤️

I worked at Fairmont Auto Parts back in day, Along with Jack, Barry, I enjoyed working for Mike Such a great place to work and a great boss he was, We all

I met Mike while working at H & R Block. We always had a good time. Mike was a lot of fun to work with. We always had plenty of laughs together and he was always caring and very empathic with his clients whether he just met them or knew them for a while. I will miss his smile and his laughter. He was a great person and I am sure he will be missed by many. He was a great co worker and great person all around. Prayers for peace and comfort for his loved ones.

I met Mike when I started having H&R Block doing my taxes, he started doing mine after a coworker of his retired I could always count on him to take very good care of me,he knew I was a cancer survivor and would always ask how I was doing it just won't be the same without him. God Bless you my friend until we meet again.

Mike was a coworker and friend of mine. I enjoyed our conversations and loved working with him. He was always kind and could make me laugh. He would help in any way that he could. He will definitely be missed. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I worked as a receptionist for Mike at H&R Block. I wasn't there long, but in the short time I had with him, Mike was one of the kindest and most supportive people I've worked for. We were a pretty good team! He was funny and open-minded, and I feel very lucky to have known him.
