Obituary of Carol Joan McCartney

Carol Joan McCartney, 81, of Morgantown, WV entered eternity on, Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Carol was born on April 1, 1943 to the late Carl & Rose McCartney. She was the oldest of four children.
Growing up Carol attended Sabraton Jr High and Morgantown High School. Upon graduating she took classes to become a medical assistant and this was the beginning of her medical career. She worked at WVU hospitals. She was the office manager for Dr. Wiley who was an orthopedic surgeon in Morgantown for over 30 years.
Carol loved a variety of activities from crocheting and sewing to traveling and fishing. She always loved to read from the time she was little. Mysteries were her favorite.
She was a faithful member of Mt. View Free Methodist church. She cherished her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Carol is survived by her grandchildren Josh Foster, and Megan (Isaac) Cook. Along with two great-grandchildren, her son-in-law Minter, all of her siblings (Linda Cooley, Carl "Sonny" McCartney & Jim (Pam) McCartney), aunts, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Carol is preceded in death by her daughter Julie A. Foster who was her pride and joy. Her husband George H. Bush, and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Blackhills Free Methodist Camp, 3791 McKinney Cave Road, Reedsville, West Virginia, 26547.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, August 16, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Megan Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
