I know each person in this picture would agree with me in saying
Mr. Bob Glock was The BEST PRINCIPAL each of us were very fortunate to have had at Lazzelle Union Elementary School. He demanded attention while teaching and respect is what he earned in return. Mr. Glock knew every parent, address & phone number. Every year The Halloween Parties were family driven & phenomenal. Christmas parties & Christmas plays that he made
Sure we rehearsed & helped us memorize each line. Mr Glock, was hard core when it came to the class room. You was guaranteed to know your multiplication tables. He would use lunch time some days to
Fire out multiplication facts! He was hard core on the playground as well! With those shiny pointed toe dress shoes, that ball would reach the sky. Class trips, NO ONE topped Mr Glocks field trips especially the END of year 5 or 6th grade trip. One of my brothers class was taken to DISNEY WORLD in Florida. Our trip was Busch Gardens in colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.! Last but not least was his family. His love for his wife & daughters was something we all should strive for. Bob Glock may you Rest at the feet of Jesus, for your work here is done

Mr. Glock was my principal at Riverside. He, along with all the staff play such a memorable part in my life, as well as many of my classmates. We cherished our time in that little school and it makes me sad that my children do not get to experience that type of atmosphere. I am heartbroken to hear of this loss. Mr. Glock made a point to run and manage the school well, all while being friendly and personable. He knew all the students and their families by name. Growing up in a "poor" small town school, it did not go unnoticed all the things he did for more underprivileged students. I can even remember him taking students to lunch at the little diner below the school. Thank you for shaping us Mr. Glock. Thank you for the memories. My deepest condolences to the family because I know in my heart, if he was that passionate of a principal he was even more so for his family.

Dear Suzanne and Girls, Thank you for sharing Bob (BG) with me for all of these years. BG and I have had a wonderful friendship since college and have been very close these past few years. I’ll always remember being in the Army together, teaching, being administrators, golfing, retiring, and walking on the trail. We laughed, shared our lives and solved the problems of the world. I’ll have a void in my life that no one else could fill. I’ll miss you, Buddy. KP

I remember the first day that Mr. Glock came to Lazzelle Union Elementary as our new Principal around 1977. He used to wear a suit, tie, and a big Stetson-like cowboy hat. I was in third grade at the time and his good discipline, teaching, positive energy, and love for his students had a transforming effect on our little elementary school. He was truly an educator “par excellence,” as when he taught, learning became contagious for everyone. He inspired all of us to realize and to believe that nothing is too hard to learn if you really apply yourself to try. All of his students were treated with dignity, kindness, respect and love. Those with less were helped through his generosity to make sure they were fed, clothed, and provided for at school.
To his students, he was more than a principal, but also a teacher, a coach, a friend, and oftentimes a left-handed softball and football teammate at recess and lunch. In all, Mr. Glock’s work as Principal at our little school could be likened unto that of a ministry. He was a bright shining light in that community so many years ago.
For me, I will be always grateful to Mr. Glock for the time I was able to spend as a student under his teaching and mentorship in fifth and sixth grade. I’ve had many teachers in life and career, but Mr. Glock was “best of the best.” In my work and profession, I still use and apply many of the concepts and teachings that he taught me almost 45 years ago. I can still see him writing on the chalkboard, and hear him talking and teaching as I do my daily work. Mr. Glock truly impacted and inspired my life in a positive and lasting way.
I ran into Mr. Glock about 10-12 years ago. He was just about to retire. I told him many of these same things and thanked him for all he did for me and all the kids at Lazzelle Union. And, being the selfless, humble man he is, he was reluctant to take much credit. A great debt of gratitude owed to him, as I don’t know where I would be, and can’t see what my life would have looked like if it were not for Mr. Glock. Truly blessed to have been his student and friend.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant:…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matt. 25:21)
Suzanne, Ashley, Lindsey, Tori and Family – deeply saddened to hear about the passing of such a great husband, father, and friend. Know that you are in my prayers and that God, Family, and Friends will surely be your comfort in the days and months ahead.
God Bless you.

Mr. Glocks first assignment was at Jerome Park Elementary and he was my teacher. He was such a good man and was so good to me. One day my dog followed me to school and was hit and injured by a car. Mr. Glock put me and my dog in his car and took us to my home. That is just one of the many ways he showed his kindness and caring. He left a profound heartfelt impact on my life for years to follow and I have never forgotten him and never will. I am so sorry I waited to long to see you again. To your beautiful wife and family, I am so sorry for your loss, you will be in my prayers. Dana Leighty

Mr.Glock was my Elementary school principal at Riverside Elementary. He was such a positive and caring figure in our lives at Riverside. He was the first person to ever let me know my name as also a song and would often sing Richie Valens “Donna” behind me while I walked to class in the hallway. To this day when i do multiplication, I think of some of his silly tricks he taught me to help remember. My favorite was “7x7, think miner 49er!” Thank you for so many happy memories. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends during such a difficult time.

I met Bob in College when we were pledge brothers in Fi Bater Capper. He was a great guy with a likable demeanor and soft style. I moved back to Morgantown in 1996 and reconnected with Bob who by this time was a principal at Riverside Elementary.
He must have been an incredible educator and administrator. I now live in FL and will be unable to visit Morgantown to pay my respects, but he will be in my heart and prayers for a long time. So long Bob, you will be missed by so many!

Mr. Glock and the teachers at Riverside Elementary supported me as if I was their own child. I truly believe that their help and guidance plays a big part in the person I have become. I never enjoyed school until college. I took a non-traditional route to get there, and that wouldn’t have surprised Mr. Glock. I often was trying to get out of school, and I had poor attendance. Belly aches, temperatures, and just over all bad behavior brought me into Mr. Glock’s office often. Even though I was poor at spelling, I read at a high level. This proved to be a confusing situation for me and my teachers. Mr. Glock always encouraged me to read and work through my problems. The faculty often saw potential in me I’m not sure everyone would have. I do not have the words to express the value of education I received at the elementary level in a small town in West Virginia. One thing I do understand is the weight and burden of loss, and I hope your family can find some peace during this difficult time knowing you helped a lot of people.
