Wilma Gibson, 65, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at her home after a long and courageous battle. She was born August 29, 1959 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Richard Larue and Wilma Dean (Lewis) Rye and her husband Jack.
She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Masontown and worked for many years at Walmart. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. In her free time, she liked to cook and bake, watching WVU sports, doing crafts, and travelling with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul Gibson; children, D.J. Dalton (Tara), Melissa Simpson (Matt), Jason Gibson (Andrea), Matt Gibson, Brian Gibson (Brandy); grandchildren, Julia Dalton, Reagan Dalton, Cristofer Carr, Jaxon Simpson, Saliena Gibson, Brady Gibson, Jake Gibson, Eli Gibson, Max Gibson, Avery Gibson, and Ren Gibson; siblings, Verna Helmick, Gladys Gillum, and Rebecca Rodgers; father-in-law, Harold Gibson; brothers-in-law, Joe Gibson and Tim Gibson; and sister-in-law, Anna Corwin.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was also preceded in death by sister, Loretta Conner; brother, Walter Rye, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Paige and Lourdine Lewis; and mother-in-law, Marian Gibson.

Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, 1326 Summers School Rd., Morgantown on Saturday, November 2nd from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor William Winston officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
