Smitty… you will be missed by many. As my coach, then coaching with you for so many years…. The memories are eternal! But you will be missed by Lisa and I mostly as a great friend!

What an incredible person! He gave me the strength and inspiration to achieve my goals! He told me one time, that I would take nine Pee Wee’s on my baseball team. We might not win many games but I know all nine players will give me everything they have and leave nothing on the field. I remembered those words and when school and life got tough. I would hear him saying, “I’ll take you PeeWee!” Thank you coach, but to me, you were so much more!!!
I could write a book about how many great times we’ve shared over the last 40 years from his mentorship as a teacher and coach but the 20 years or so of playing softball together and as a great friend will stay with me until we meet again.The pool parties at Marinos after winning championships when you boys were young,so many great memories, prayers and condolences for one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to call friend.
