Thomas Hartley "Tom" Richards, 69, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, November 18, 2024. He was born in Morgantown on January 21, 1955 to the late Harry and Frances (Hartley) Richards.
Thomas was a 1973 graduate of Morgantown High School. After high school he became an electrician and worked for Consolidated Coal Co. until his retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman and was particularly fond of hunting, fishing, and all water sports. Thomas also enjoyed gardening and was methodist by faith.
Thomas is survived by his sister, Diane Lowther; several nieces and nephews, including Tim Teter, Stephen Lowther, Sara Harper, and Douglas Harper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Debbie King and Betty Jo Harper.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, December 14th from 2PM until the time of the memorial service at 3PM with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, 252 Brewer Rd, Morgantown, WV 26508.
