Georgia was born at home in Dellslow on August 14th, 1928. She was the 10th of 13 children born to Harry and Belle McDonald and was the last remaining member of her generation.
Georgia married Donald "Ray" Hilling on December 10th, 1945, in Oakland, Maryland.
She was the proud mother of Donald A. "Don" (Sheila) of Dellslow, Steven M. (Ruth) of Kernersville, NC, Gwen K. Sanford (Lonnie) of Fairmont and Vernon V. (Laura) of Dellslow. Georgia was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, Melissa Forbes (Micheal), Amy Tennant (Mike Simpkins), Andrea Tennant, Amanda Newman (Joshua), Meagan Gribble (Bryan), Jessica Nicholson (Gene), Logan Hilling (Lovie), Timothy Hilling (Peggy), Andy Hilling (Gloria), Angela Douglas, Steven Hilling, and Angela Beck (David); and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law.
Georgia was a Free Methodist by faith and was a member of Beulah Free Methodist Church. After Georgia could no longer attend Church, she greatly enjoyed listening to the preaching of Jimmy Swaggert and gospel music, as well as Sunday services by Pastor Junius Lewis.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son Don; grandchildren, Tera Hilling and an infant grandchild; 10 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the entire Amedisys Hospice team for the loving and compassionate care that was given to Georgia and the family. A special thank you to Riley, Rayna, Kayla, Paula, Robin and Aminda, who Georgia loved.
