Obituary of Delores Eddy Moore
Please share a memory of Delores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delores (Dee) June Eddy Moore, 98, of Morgantown, West Virginia went to be with her Savior on January 16, 2025 in her home surrounded by loving family. Dee was born on July 1, 1926, to Raymond Cecil and Alice Samantha (Jenkins) Eddy in Greensboro, PA.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Dee was preceded in death by her brother (Raymond Cecil Eddy, Jr.), father, mother, and husband (Robert Alvadore Moore). She is survived by her beloved children, Larry (Peggy) Moore, Cathy (Dave) Rough, Randy (Monnie) Moore, and Bradley (Kay) Moore and grandchildren Benjamin (Vanessa), Matthew (Jennifer), Bethany, Daniel, Rebekah (Chris), Donna (Tim), Logan, Molly (Nick), and Caroline (Patrick) and twenty-two great-grandchildren Juliet, Lucia, William, Rory, Shanley, Cadence, Alayna, Joie, Brenden, Noah, Jacob, Rose, Haven, Hannah, Caedmon, Lucy, Emmy, Micah, Abby, Aidan, Nico, and Amelia. She was lovingly referred to as Nana by her family.
Throughout her life Dee was fascinated with flying airplanes and became one of the youngest licensed woman pilots in West Virginia as a teen. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1944. She was class secretary and continued her duties for many decades organizing reunions. She was active in many student organizations including the Civil Air Patrol.
On January 12, 1946 Dee married Robert, her childhood friend and beloved spouse. They were married for 60 years prior to his passing. The two raised their family in Morgantown and ran a family rental business in town together. In their retirement the two traveled the world together.
Dee placed her faith in Jesus Christ when attending a tent revival service at age 11. She had attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church for over 40 years and was a deaconess and active in WISH. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, swimming, reading, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets making sure each of her children and grandchildren received one.
Dee placed a lot of care in making bread and weekly meals for her family and planning yearly vacations for her children and grandchildren at the WV state parks. She ensured her family spent time together and shared her faith with them.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Dee's memory by encouraging someone who impacts lives for Christ. She was involved with CMA Church of Morgantown (cmachurch.net) and Compassion International (compassion.com) sponsoring children.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
