Obituary of Tiffany Marie Swafford

Please share a memory of Tiffany to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tiffany Marie (Bierschied) Swafford, who left this world peacefully at home on January 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous ten-month battle with cancer. She was 46 years old. Tiffany was born on July 11, 1978, in Moab, UT, to Jody and Julie Bierschied. She grew up in a loving environment that instilled in her the values of compassion, faith, and community. She always brought joy and laughter to those around her, and her radiant spirit and infectious smile brightened the lives of all who knew her. Tiffany made friendships easily, and many of these bonds lasted her lifetime. Tiffany graduated from Grand County High School in Moab, UT, in 1996 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science with a concentration in teaching and coaching from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, in 2002. Tiffany was blessed to meet the love of her life, Robert Swafford, and they were married in 2003. Their family grew with the birth of their three sons: Brekken (2004), Chase (2006), and Porter (2008). They lived in Moab, UT, and Grand Junction, CO, until 2014, when they moved to Stewartstown, WV. Tiffany was an inspiring and dedicated educator who formed deep connections with her students, fostering lasting bonds that transcended the classroom. Her teaching career included adult education in Utah, high school instruction at UHS, kindergarten at Trinity Christian in West Virginia, and private tutoring. Always health-conscious and active, she was a vibrant Zumba instructor and a devoted representative for the wellness company Melaleuca. Tiffany's influence inspired countless individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Tiffany was active in her community and dedicated her time and energy by volunteering with CEOS and supporting the Community Building. Additionally, she showcased her talent as a fantastic storyteller, bringing magic and joy to the Black Cat Pumpkin Patch Egg Hunt. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she held a deep love for the Lord, which shone through in her daily interactions. Tiffany was a St Pius Catholic Church member in Moab, UT and then joined The Foundry Church shortly after moving to Morgantown. She believed in the power of prayer and often reminded her loved ones to trust God's plan, especially in times of struggle. Throughout her battle with cancer, Tiffany displayed remarkable strength and resilience. Even in her most challenging moments, she was a beacon of inspiration, reminding us of the beauty of faith and the promise of eternal life. She found solace in Psalm 16:11: "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore," and Matthew 18:3: "Truly, I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Tiffany is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her cherished children, Brekken, Chase, and Porter; and her mother, Julie. She is lovingly remembered by her grandfather, Richard Nunn, and her two sisters, Tami and Tara, along with their partners, Cody and Will, as well as her mother-in-law, Debi, and brother-in-law, Eric. She adored her nieces, including Lacey, Sabrina, Tandy, and BrighLynn, and nephews Christian, Ian, and DC, who will always cherish her memory and hold her close in their hearts. Tiffany is preceded in death by her father, Jody, beloved brother, Dirk, grandmothers Norma Nunn and Jackie Wheeler, and grandfathers Hugh Wheeler and Joe Bierschied. A celebration of Tiffany's extraordinary life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at The Foundry Church, 432 High St., Morgantown, WV. This will be a time to remember and honor Tiffany, to share stories of her life, and to find comfort in each other's company. Instead of flowers, the family encourages donations to The Foundry Church, 432 High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 as a testament to Tiffany's unwavering spirit and desire to help others. Though Tiffany may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We are deeply grateful for the love and support we have received during this difficult time. We rejoice in the knowledge that she has found peace in the arms of her Savior, where there is no pain or sorrow, only eternal joy. May her soul rest in heavenly peace. As Tiffany always said, "Have child-like faith! Love God, Love People". Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com
