Obituary of Matthew Steven Reiner

Matthew Steven Reiner, 41, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his home. He was born October 18, 1983 in Phoenix, AZ, a son of Rocky Reiner (Sharee) and Pam Erdie (Steve).

Matt was employed at Sundale Nursing Home and in his free time enjoyed gaming, music of all kinds, Sci-Fi, and Magic the Gathering card game. He always enjoyed having a good time and his smile could light up a room. Matt enjoyed hiking , camping, and just being outdoors. He had a great love of good hardback books, but later found 1000's of audible books to be his go to for reading. Matt made friends wherever he went to and enjoyed a good conversation. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and stepparents, he is survived by his grandparents, Don and Rose Reiner and Bobbi Beck; siblings, Jacob Reiner (Mary), Blaine Erdie, Trey Lazzell, Shelby Erdie, Lillian Lazzell, and Aubrey Reiner. Matt is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Linda Thorman.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, March 7th from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, PO Box 1090, Dellslow, WV 26531.

Following the visitation, cremation will be entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
