William "Bill" Clayton Kerzak, Sr., 80, of Morgantown passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Harmony in Morgantown. Bill was born on March 16, 1944, the son of the late Andrew and Frances Kerzak. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Kerzak, Morgantown, WV; daughter, Jennifer Connoley and son-in-law, Kevin Connoley, Morgantown, WV; daughter-in-law, Chandra Starn, Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Daniel Connoley, Benjamin Connoley, Corinne Connoley, Trent Kerzak, and Ethan Kerzak, Morgantown, WV; brother, Anthony Kerzak and sister-in-law, Ada Virginia Kerzak, Morgantown, WV; sister, Virginia Lewis and brother-in-law, Dr. Eugene Lewis, Greensboro, NC; and many adored nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his son, William Clayton Kerzak, Jr. Bill graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1962 and enlisted in the US Air Force shortly thereafter. He served bravely in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star Medal. Following his service, he worked for AT&T in Etam, WV until his retirement. Bill was always watching and discussing sports. A football and basketball season ticket holder for many years, he followed the Mountaineers, win or lose. He enjoyed baseball, especially his beloved New York Yankees. Until recently, he grew an impressive garden and was happy to share his beautiful and plentiful vegetables with friends and family. He was generous in so many ways and was always willing to offer a helping hand. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, March 13th from 4-6PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 14th from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM with Fr. Gary Naegele officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:30PM at the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery in Lost Creek, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SJI Sisters, Immaculate Conception Church, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
