Obituary of Thelma Morrison

Thelma Jean Morrison, 81, of Brookhaven died peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.. She was born May 27, 1931 in Morgantown. Thelma worked at Sterling Faucet and Heck's Department Store before assisting her husband with the operation of Morrison Lawn Mower and Small Engine Repair Shop in Brookhaven. She attended the Brookhaven United Methodist Church, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Bill McCartney and Sandra and Fred Parenti; four grandchildren and their spouses. Monica McCartney and her husband Travis Wilson, Amanda and Russell Randolph, Joshua Parenti, and Erica Parenti and her fiance' William Patterson; four great-granddaughters, Savanna Patterson, Emma Patterson, Kaitlyn Randolph and Samantha Randolph; her brother, Delmas McCartney and his wife, Pierrette; her sister, Ida Ball, and her caretaker, Charmane Todd. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence Morrison, in 2002. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, January 9 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and again on Thursday, January 10 from 12:30 PM until the time of the funeral service at-1:30 PM with Rev. Earnest Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mrs. Morrison's memory please be made to the Brookhaven United Methodist Church, 219 Brookhaven Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508.
