Charles Harvey Bowser, 95, of Morgantown, passed away November 14, 2023 at the Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg, PA. He was born March 26, 1928 in Turner Douglas, WV, the son of the late Rev. Bernard Bowser and Nora Mae (Mersing) Bowser. Charles was a former member of the U.S. Navy and was employed in the federal prison system at FCI Morgantown, formerly known as The Kennedy Youth Center. Charles is survived by daughters, Sharon Wotring and Pamela Slider (Phillip); sons, Charles Bowser, and Stephen Bowser (Billie Jo); son-in-law, Danny Berkshire; sisters, Ruth Athey, Loretta Harvey; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bowser; sisters, Iris Stemple, Arlene Porter, and Leota Peck; brothers, Harland Bowser, Everett Bowser, Vernon Bowser; and one daughter, Debbie Berkshire. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday, November 20th from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM with Pastor Joe Adams officiating.
