Dennis Charles Quinlan, 69, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his residence.Dennis was born in Detroit, MI on January 29, 1943,the son of Lucy (Mackenzie) Quinlan of Clinton Twp., MI and the late Charles Quinlan..Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Daly Quinlan one son, Aaron D. Quinlan and his wife Brooke and one daughter, Emily D. Quinlan all of Tampa, FL and one sister, Lorna Morgan and her husband John of Utica, MI.Mr. Quinlan completed his undergraduate and Masters degree work at Wayne St. University in Detroit, MI, his Ph. D. studies at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY, and his post Doctoral studies at the Worcester Foundation in Worcester, MA.He was a Professor and Researcher in the Biology department of West Virginia University from 1976 until his retirement1999.He was very fond of his dogs - his beloved Holly who preceded him in death, and the family dog, Olive.Mr. Quinlanâs wishes for cremation are being honored by his family. No memorial services are planned for the immediate future.Mr. Quinlan requested that if desired, contributions in his memory may be made to Animal Friends of North Central WV, 25 Brewer Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508 or by visiting animalfriendswv.org,Arrangements are in care of the Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown.
