Obituary of Concetta Farace

Concetta (Connie) Caruso Farace, 90, died peacefully on October 18, 2012 in Williamsburg, VA. She was born in Dunbar, PA, June 25, 1922, to the late Dominic and Rosina Caruso.Connie graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Dr. Patrick J. Farace, DDS, from Morgantown, WV. Pat served over 20 years in the US Army and Connie was skilled at setting up households around the world. Dedicated to community service, Connie volunteered at local hospitals, was a Girl Scout leader, helped with Red Cross blood drives, taught expectant mother classes and served with several community groups. After the Army, Pat and Connie returned to Morgantown, where Connie continued volunteering at the local hospital, Birthright, Christian Help and the Humane Society. Connie was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Star City. She remained in WV for many years after Pat's death (1976). In 2003 she moved to Williamsburg, VA to be near family.Connie is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and friend who always thought about others and spent life making her community a better place, where ever it may have been. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Patrick J. Farace and her brother, Amadeo Caruso.Connie is survived by her children: Patrick J Farace (Wendy) of Hinesville, GA Mary Ribock (Edward) of Williamsburg, VA Rose Farace of Williamsburg, VA Pamela Huhane (Bernie) of North Hollywood, CA seven grandchildren, Jennifer Ribock Green, Jonathan Ribock, Jason Ribock, CPT Amy Farace, MD, Patrick S. Farace, Patrick J. Huhane, Ana Huhane Pomee six great-grandchildren and brothers, Phillip Caruso of Glenshaw, PA and Albert Caruso of Dunbar, PA. Family and friends will be welcomed at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV Monday, October 22, 2012 from 7-9pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Star City, WV at 11 am on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum.
