Dottie C. Uphold McDonald, 68 of Aarons Creek Rd., Morgantown, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at her residence.She was born June 25, 1944 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Paul Allen Uphold and the late Mollie Lee Moats Uphold.Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Norman Gaye McDonald two sons, Michael Jay McDonald and his fiancé Joyce McKenney of Morgantown, and Daniel Lee McDonald and his fiancé Darla Hayhurst of Morgantown a granddaughter, Amber Nicole McDonald and her fiancé Matthew Malone of Morgantown a great-granddaughter Annalis Marie Malone one brother, Sherman Uphold of Alabama a sister, Judy Uphold Ruckle of Morgantown a step-brother, Leon Gear of Wheeling, WV and a step-sister Darlene Maxwell of Ohio.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Roy Uphold.She worked at Sterling Faucet for many years and then worked for 28 years at West Virginia University as a head cook. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, had a love for flowers and plants and enjoyed reading.Family and friends will be received at Nicholson Chapel Church, Summers School Rd. in Morgantown on Tuesday, October 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and again on Wednesday, October 17th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Reverend Rick Stackpole officiating. Interment will follow in the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown is in charge of the arrangements.
