Obituary of Donna Laishley

Donna Rae Coda Laishley, 69, of Morgantown, passed away at 9:05 AM Friday, October 5, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born October 16, 1942, in Morgantown to the late Raymond âBudâ Coda and the late Lula âKayâ Hutchison Coda.She graduated from Morgantown High School and went on to retire as a driver for the Monongalia County Board of Education with more than 20 years of service. She loved her job of driving bus 124. The children she carried and her co-workers became like her best friends. Anywhere she went, children that she carried on her bus all through her years would recognize her. Her husband, her pets and her family were her entire world. She loved spending time with them, whether it be at home or camping at Big Bear Lake. She traveled the world and visited with many friends and family via the Internet. She was an avid Facebook user and enjoyed her time in FarmVille. She absolutely loved the Mountaineers. Donna is survived by her husband of 28 years, Kenneth her children Ricky Jackson, Deborah Jackson and Linda Hamrick her step-children Cindy Maynard and Scott Laishley 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and her brother William ""Bill"" Coda of Daytona Beach, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, William âWillâ Coda. Donnaâs wishes for cremation are being honored by her family. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 4:30 PM until the time of the memorial service at 6:30 PM with Reverend Reba Thurmond officiating.
