I was so sad to learn of Mary Ann's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hess Family. I have such wonderful memories of spending time with Burl and Mary Ann and all of the girls. You were always laughing when Mary Ann was around! What a great sense of humor she had! Heaven is going to be a brighter place with her in it! She will be missed. May God give you strength and peace until you meet again.

My aunt Maryann was one of the top inspirationsIn my life. If ever I felt sorry for myself for any reason, I only had to think of how she lived her life. She never complained. She was most like my grandma who like her had this look about her that was angelic. We shared some of the best memories of growing up together in Oakland. Her sense of humor stayed with her even though life was so kind. I loved staying with her and Buryl. Laughter is good for the soul so I made it through some tough years because she saw humor in almost every situation . When I was a teenager I shared my deepest secrets with her because I knew she would keep them. When her children were born I envied them because I knew she would be so devoted to them. I will miss her even though the mile separated us she was in my heart daily.
