Obituary of Wilma Bolyard

Wilma Louise Bolyard, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her home. Wilma was born in Morgantown on January 21, 1926, the daughter of the late John William Horne and Pearl Effie (Shaffer) Horne. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her home in West Sabraton where she could often be seen working in her flowers or cutting grass. Wilma loved collecting antique glass and refinishing old furniture. She was a gifted seamstress having worked at the Morgan Shirt Factory for many years, a wonderful cook who could tell when the mixture was right by its feel, and a skilled stonemason having carved and fixed much of the sandstone on her familyâs home. She loved animals, especially Boston Bulldogs. Her original dog Henry and later Henry II were friends and companions throughout her life. Wilma is survived by her daughter Gail Martine of Masontown grandson Albert Martine and wife Alissa of Frisco, TX brother-in-law Neil Bolyard of Morgantown foster brother, Frankie Stafford and his wife Emma of Morgantown and her dog, Henry II.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Bolyard sister, Ruth Viola Nicholson and brother, Ralph William Horne. Family and friends will be received at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, Morgantown from 10am until the time of the graveside service at 11am Monday, June 25, 2012, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilmaâs memory to Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, 1326 Summers School Road, Morgantown WV 26508.
