Donald John Bellamy, 80, of Bluegrass Village, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Sundale Nursing Home.Donald was born in Morgantown on February 11, 1932, the son of the late Reginald John Bellamy and Nita Laura (Turner) Bellamy.He was a member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church. Donald was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from the Board of Education maintenance department after many years of service.He is survived by his son David Bellamy and wife Lydia of Henrietta, NY two grandchildren Christopher Bellamy of Greece, NY Gregory Bellamy of Henrietta, NY and one great granddaughter.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Bellamy in 2003 son, Gregory Bellamy in 1995 and daughter, Suzanne in 1985.Cremation services provided by Hastings Funeral Home A Memorial service will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Wednesday, June 20 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am with Rev. Dr. John E. Allen officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in Donaldâs memory to American Cancer Society, Monongalia Unit, 122 S. High St., Morgantown, WV 26501.
