Louis George LeClair, 89, Smithfield, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Flint, Michigan on November 26, 1922, the son of the late George LaClair and Frances (Stolze) LaClair. Louis George served during World War II in the Navy. Worked as a building contractor and owned Rasak Home Builders in Flint. He was a member of the VFW and Davison Country Club in Davison, Mich. In early years, he enjoyed bowling, golfing plus hunted and fished throughout the western US and Canada.After his daughter moved to West Virginia, he enjoyed whitewater rafting on all the rivers in the area. In 2003, after the death of his wife, Dorothy, he moved to PA to help his daughter with building improvements to her stable and home. He continued his avid devotion to the University of Michigan football and basketball teams and became a WVU and Steeler fan. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Szilagyi of Smithfield, PA and friend Randy Robinson along with sister-in-laws Lydia LaClair and Mary Wright. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ilene Bowan LeClair, sistersDorothy Miller and Madeline Barter and brothers Norman LaClair and William Wright. Cremation services provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, WV A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Michigan. Memorial donations may be made in Louisâs memory to DEHM/USS Slater, Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, P.O. Box 1926, Albany, NY 12201-1926.
