Domenico Antonio âTonyâ Cerone, 68, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012, at his home. Tony was born on December 12, 1943, in Collelongo Abruzzo Prov. Aquila, Italy, the son of the late Nicola and Maria Cerone. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Tony was referred to as the âAmerican Dreamâ. He attended a tailoring trade school in Italy and worked with a tailor in Rome as an apprentice. He also served in the Italian Army, before coming to this country in 1964. His first job was a tailor for Biaforaâs Menâs Store on High St. He then worked as the tailor and co-owner of Massulloâs Cleaner till the time of his death. He was a devoted Mountaineer fan, and enjoyed bowling along with summer bocce matches with close friends. His summer past time was playing Italian card games and spending quality time with loved ones. He was a devoted husband and father to his wife and two children. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Massullo Cerone, his son, Nicholas J. Cerone, his daughter, Monica M. Cerone, his mother and father-in-law Carl and Leona Virginia Massullo, sisters, Carminella and husband, Domenico and Cesidia and husband Domenico, a sister-in-law Barbara Massullo, an uncle, Giuseppe (Jo) Cerone of Ambridge, PA, an aunt, Antonietta Forlini of Morgantown as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Nicola and Maria Cerone, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carl D. Massullo, Jr. and mother-in-law, Alice Massullo. Friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, on Monday, June 4, from 2-8pm. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30pm to conclude visitation. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, from 10am until the time of the Mass of Christian Celebration at 11am with Father John V. DiBacco as Celebrant and Father V. Rev. Mark G. Ward CP, VF and Father Colombo Bandiera assisting.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Dominico Anthony's name to St. Francis de Sales Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
