Eleanor Jean âEllieâ Scott, a lifelong Morgantown resident who recently resided at Assisted Living at Evergreen, passed away May 5, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Eleanor was born in Morgantown, WV, November 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Harry J. and Persis L. Scott.She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1945. Eleanor worked for Farmers and Merchants Bank and One Valley Bank for 35 years, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed making, dressing and collecting dolls. She was also active in the social activities of Evergreen and Madison Rehabilitation Center. She was a Methodist by Faith.She is survived by her sister, Mary E. Och of Wheeling, and her brothers, Harry S. Scott of Morgantown, and Robert L. Scott, of Brownsville, PA six nieces and nephews, Sandra E. (Charles) Smith, of Wheeling, Sherry Smith and Harriet S. (Phil) Colebank, of Morgantown, Robert L. Scott Jr., Jeffrey L. Scott and Tim Lew (Rhonda) Scott, all of Brownsville. She is also survived by 5 great nieces and 5 great nephews, and 10 great-great nephews and 4 great-great nieces.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Oliver Scott, her sisters-in-law, Bessie Scott and Ruth Scott, and her brother-in-law, William Och, and her great-niece, Brook Ann Colebank.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Tuesday, May 8 from 12 (Noon) until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home at 1pm. with Rev. Richard L. Shaffer officating. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery.
