Margaret Rebecca Oleksa, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.She was born September 14, 1928 in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Leslie E. and Bessie Murray Summers.In her early years Margaret worked in food service at the St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital, as a waitress at Mont Chateau Lodge, and later a cashier and food preparer at Shop N Gas convenience store in Dellslow. She was a wife and homemaker for her family.She was an avid fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineers and loved watching their football and basketball games on TV. She enjoyed bowling, and for many years was a member of numerous bowling leagues in the area. She enjoyed going to the gospel sings at The Mountain Heights Community Building and The Sagebrush Round Up at Bunners Ridge, as well as spending time with family and friends.She is survived by two daughters Deborah K. Smith and Michelle D. Demasi, a son George R. âRandyâ Oleksa and his wife Debra S. all of Morgantown, and her loving sister and best friend Opal Boyce of Morgantown. Margaret's grandchildren were the light of her life. They include Chad and Breanne Oleksa, Jasmine and Ron Eckenroad, Gregory and Kelly Oleksa, Tamira Smith and Curtis Baines, Joe, Nathan, and Dominic Demasi, and 10 great grandchildren Haleigh, Lexi, Hannah, Jackson, Layla, Mylee, Gaije, Kerean, Gracie, Gabby, and Braxton (to be born in June), and her constant companion, her dog Molly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, George Oleksa six brothers and three sisters son-in-law, Joseph M. Demasi and former son-in-law, Gwathney L. Smith.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 6-9p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28th from 9:30a.m until the time of the service at 10:30am. with Fr. Vincent Joseph officiating.
