Obituary of Madge Friend

Madge Kathryn Friend, 87, of Stewartstown Road, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Sundale Nursing Home.Madge was born in Tyrone, WV on June 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Closz) Hussing.She was a member of the Point Marion Apostolic Church. She is survived by her son, Donald Friend and wife, Bonnie of Morgantown and a daughter, Ruth Howdershelt and husband, Robert of Bruceton Mills four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren her three sisters, Sylvia Dunn of Tyrone, Georgie Hammack of Tyrone, and Hazel Galloway and husband, Kermit of Bruceton Mills two brothers, Allen Hussing of Masontown, and Lester Hussing of Ohio,and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Friend in 1973 a great-granddaughter, Natalie Sneedon and her brothers, Carl, Everett, Floyd, Clyde, Leroy, Fred, and Lloyd Hussing. Per Mrs. Friendâs wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Her wishes for cremation will be honored and inurnment will take place next to her husband at Zion Cemetery, Cheat Lake. Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
