Obituary of Larry Grimes SR

Earth has one gentle soul less and Heaven one angel more. Larry Grimes, Sr., 69, of, Morgantown, went to be with the lord on March 14, 2012.Larry was born in Morgantown on March 7, 1943, the son of the late Ralph and Gladys Johnson Grimes. He married his childhood sweetheart Linda Lou Austin on December 31, 1963, and moved to New Jersey where they lived for 40 years. He retired from Chemical Leaman and moved back to Morgantown. He enjoyed working in the yard and the garage when he could but enjoyed his grandsons the most. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Lou Austin Grimes, a daughter Theresa Grimes of Morgantown, 2 grandsons that he adored, Edward B. Johnson, Jr. and Brian A. Johnson, a sister, Shirley Blosser, a brother, Melvin Grimes and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Allen Grimes, Jr. his brothers, James C. Grimes, Gary L. Grimes, Jerry L. Grimes, sisters, Joyce M. Giles and Iva L. Grimes.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 1:30 -3:00 pm on Saturday, March 17. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 3pm with Rev. Jerry Grimes officiating. Cremation services will then follow.
