Obituary of Delano Stalknaker

Delano âDelâ R. Stalnaker, 77, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 10, 1934 in Morgantown, to the late Marvin Closs and Mapel (Coombs) Stalnaker. Del served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Keflavik, Iceland. After his discharge, he studied Hotel/Motel management and worked at the Wilbert Vault Company, Laurel, MD, and Sundale Nursing Home, Morgantown. Del is survived by three siblings, a brother, Bobby Stalnaker of Kokomo, IN and two sisters, Darlene Sira and her husband, Jerry, of Jacksonville, FL, and Karen Deusenberry and her husband, Don, of Morgantown and one nephew. In addition to his parents, Del was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Stalnaker and a brother, Laddie Stalnaker.Delâs family will be receiving relatives and friends for a time of visitation at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, February 2nd , from 5 to 8 PM and again on Friday, February 3rd from 10 AM until t the 11 AM funeral service with Reverend Craig Falkenstein officiating.Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
