Norma Jane Brooks Dunham left this earth Monday, January 16, 2012. She was born March 8, 1923. She was the daughter of Goldie Mae Trippett Brooks and Harry Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Joseph C Dunham her mother, Goldie Mae father, Harry brothers Walter Brooks, Frank Brooks and Jim Brooks sisters Zane, Shirley, Sarah and Mary and one beloved grandson, Neil Preston. She is survived by one sister, Zelma Harms of Fort Washington, MD and one brother, Edsel Brooks of OH. She also survived by her seven children, Diana Preston of Fort Myers, FL, Thomas Dunham, Marie Dunham, Ruth Ellen Bailey, and Margaret DeWitt all of Morgantown, Patricia Dunham of Pompano Beach, FL and her fiancé Ken David, and Paul Dunham and his life time friend Ron Webb of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She has eight loving grandchildren, Joseph B. Dewitt and wife Beverly, Lisa Powroznik and husband Todd, Daniel Preston and fiancée Becky, Patrick Davis and wife Laurita, Laura Trussell, Karen Dunham and fiancé Jason, and Megan Dunham and adopted granddaughter Shanetha Lewis. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, Aidan and Ian DeWitt, Tyler Huneycutt, David Moore, Savannah and Gavin Powroznik, Michael and Christopher Trussell, Joel, Hannah, Evan and Abigail Davis, Elliot and Elijah Watts, Emyle and Devon Dunham and Serenity Lewis. Norma attended Fairmont State College, worked for a number of years at the Hotel Morgan, and was retired from West Virginia University Medical Center where she worked for 25 years. She was active in Catholic Daughters of America, both in Morgantown and Pompano Beach, FL and the Senior Centers in both Morgantown and Deerfield Beach, FL. She was a member of the American Legion Womenâs Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary and MOC for over 40 years. She loved life, liked to travel, loved the beach, and camping. She was a longtime member of various bowling leagues at Surburban Lanes. She was an extremely creative artist and seamstress, and will be especially remembered for her imaginative party decorations and her peanut man series. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Star City, and St Henry Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday January 22, from 5 pm to 8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, January 23, at St. Maryâs Church in Star City with Rev. John V. DiBacco as Celebrant. Friends will be received at the church prior to the start of Mass from 10-11 AM.",277366
