Garry had many, many friends and I am just one of them. I've known Garry since I was a boy growing up in Westover. My father tied flies and Garry would stop by our house to buy some flies and chat with Dad.In 1991 I made a fly tying video about some of the fly patterns Dad originated. Garry did the introduction on the video. I was amazed at his ability to quickly look over notes I had written and then,on camera, repeat everything in the script without a missed word or phrase.I will always remember Garry fondly and will miss him as will, I'm sure, all who knew him. Very sorry to hear of Garry's passing. I have many fond memeories of him at WCLG. My father, Jim Feather, worked there with him until about 1973. Garry was always smiling and laughing. He, Jack Johns, and my dad usually had way too much fun at work! They had so many wonderful stories to tell! You are all in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers.

Linda and family, I was so shocked to hear of Garry's passing. I know you are heartbroken, but God will watch over him till you meet again. I remember the first time I met Garry, I was a little girl, and he and Jim Shoemaker brought an old MG roadster to my father's garage to have it painted...They loved picking at me when I would go to the garage. After that, he never forgot my parents, especially my mother,Marge Gidley, who passed in April. You all are in my prayers...

It is a sad day when one of the few people who made a difference in your life is gone, this was one of those days. I would not be who I am without Garry Bowers. The kindness & understanding he gave me as a young man, the willingness to let me learn from his experience & knowledge, and the lessons of how to be both a professional in business & a fair person in all aspects of life are unmatched. These qualities...along with his commitment to family, friends, community & broadcasting are becoming more & more rare. My thoughts & prayers to Linda, Marc, Mike and Heather at this difficult time. I'm sure the "Old Trader" will have the final sign-off he deserves from those who knew & loved him.
