Former Weston resident Connie Elizabeth Carroll, 53, died at noon, Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at The Madison, Morgantown, after a brief illness.Connie was born March 9, 1958, and grew up in Weston, daughter of the late Pauline Rogers Carroll and James Richard Carroll.She is survived by her sister, Noelle Carroll Stapleton and brother in law Alex of Gormania, W.Va., nieces and a nephew, and lifelong friends Pam Honeycutt of Morgantown and Karen Randolph of Weston. Connie also had several friends throughout Texas, Connecticut, other parts of the United States and the world after traveling extensively in a career as a marketer for major chemical companies.Connie graduated from Lewis County High School in 1976 and obtained a bachelorâs of science in chemistry from West Virginia University in 1980.She began her career in 1980 at Union Carbideâs Seadrift Plant near Victoria, Texas, and rose through the ranks to department head by 1993. She later worked as worldwide issues manager, surfactants, at Danbury, Conn., from 1993 through 1997 and became marketing manager of a fluids and lubricants program from 1997 through 2001, during which time the company merged with Dow Chemical.Connie then worked as global marketing manager, specialty chemicals, for Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. from 2002 through 2009 at The Woodlands, Texas.She was working as commercialization manager, lubricants, for Omni Tech International, also at The Woodlands, at the time of her death.Connieâs passions included deep sea diving, photography, cooking and her longtime cat, Annie.Connie went diving at locations around the globe until the final months of her life. Her unfulfilled dream had been to return to West Virginia to run a food catering business.Connie will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who loved her wonderful heart, her beautiful smile and her willingness to sacrifice for others.At Connieâs request, she was cremated. A memorial service will be held this spring in Morgantown for family and close friends.
