Marjorie Jean Horton, 87, of Vineyard Way, Morgantown, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at her residence.Marjorie Jean was born in Connellsville on February 22, 1924, the daughter of the late William Addis and the late Myrtle Mae (Shallenberger) Addis.Survivors include her two children, Patricia Jean Bowers and her husband Jim of Sunset Beach and Larry Horton of Cheat Neck one granddaughter, Emily Jean Bowers as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Horton and a sister, Doris Chambers. Mrs. Horton was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed baking cookies, pies and cakes. She was a member of the former Fletcher Methodist Church, now the Cheat Lake United Methodist Church.Family and friends will be received at Cheat Lake United Methodist Church on Monday, October 17th from 10 AM until the 12 noon funeral service, where Pastor Michael J. Rowe will officiate. Interment will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Morgantown.Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown is in charge of the arrangements.Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
