Martha Lee Phillips Evanto, 77, of Lawnview Dr., Morgantown, went home to meet her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.She was born in Morgantown on October 6, 1933, a daughter of the late Jasper Blan Phillips and the late Lucy Jane (Mayfield) Phillips.In addition to raising her four children, she was a grandmother that babysat each and every grandchild and great-grandchildren. She could always be depended upon to help anyone with her sympathetic ear, and according to her husband, Mike, she made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to take to the golf course.Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Michael Evanto her children and their families including Michael A. Evanto, his wife Kathy and their daughter Morgan N. Sue Evanto-Morton, her husband Dennis and their children Atticus and Jett and Cheryl Clark, her husband Derek and their children Kristy Matala, Ryan Matala and his wife Jessica, and Kayli Matala, Brittnee Clark, and Chris Evanto, his wife Julie, and their children Jesse and Lexy her great-grandchildren, Haven and Alana Neal, and Emma and Katie Matala her brothers Donald C. Phillips and his wife Joann and George H. Phillips and his wife Biddie one sister, Mary K. Eddy, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marlin D. Phillips, Everett B Phillips and Richard A. Phillips.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, Oct.2nd from 1-5 PM. Family and friends will then meet at West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown for a graveside committal service at 1:30 PM Monday, October 3rd with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating.
